Arao City is located in the northwestern part of Kumamoto Prefecture, on the border with Fukuoka Prefecture. "Michi-no-Eki Wellness Arao" is situated in the heart of Arao's daily life, with the Ariake Sea to the west and gentle rolling hills inland. As a tourist hub in Arao where you can enjoy the charm of fresh, locally produced food in every season, and as a place for daily interaction within the community, it offers a new kind of roadside station where the ordinary and the extraordinary, locals and tourists mingle, allowing you to experience the charm of a roadside station like no other before.

A "Health, Welfare, and Childcare Support Facility" has been added to the roadside station grounds, consolidating administrative services for Arao citizens related to health, welfare, and childcare. It boasts excellent facilities including "Mirairo Park" (play area) where children can play freely in a large space, "Mirairo Hall" (multipurpose space), "Mirairo Kitchen" (cooking room), and consultation rooms. The offices of Arao City and the Arao City Social Welfare Council are also located there, providing one-stop service for consultations and other needs.
